Kenna's first swim class...

Kenna had her first swim class today and I think she really enjoyed it. She was not fazed by the water in her face like Kaila was. She just took it like a champ and actually gave mommy a few smiles here and there.

Paying attention to Coach Jeremy's instructions...
Pouring water over her face...
Praising her for doing so well...
Massage time...
Getting sprinkled...

Snacktime with Kaila & Morgan...

Last night Morgan came over to play with Kaila and I just had to get a picture of this. Sadie kept looking back and forth at them to see who was going to drop something first, hence the reason she is lying between them. Silly Sadie!

This is what kids do to you...

So, I had a moment today making fun of myself that I just have to share. I had just put my brace on my neck, heat pack 0ver my shoulder onto my back, and was about to make me some ice cream when I thought to myself "Oh my gosh, this is what kids do to you..."

Oh and I forgot to mention that I had just taken Tylenol, and let's not forget that at this point I am exhausted from having to wake-up multiple times in the middle of the night for multiple children.

Anyway, Cisco had quite a laugh watching me all beaten up eating ice cream to ease my pain and make me feel better. Long story short, I feel all you moms out there...

This is what kids do to you...lol!

*I think I might need to do a little more explaining. I have been having a lot of pain on the left side of my chest, back, and arm for a few weeks. Went to the doctor and it happens to be from carrying the kids on that side. So, the diagnosis was basically that my muscles and nerves on that side are inflamed. Hence the neck brace to relieve the pressure of having to work those muscles and the heating pad is for the big knot in my back that hurts like (you fill in the blank).*

For the love of princesses...

Kaila loves anything princess and I'll respect that as long as she knows that I am the Queen ;) Here are the girls enjoying their princess moment.

An ukulele star in the making...

Kaila will sometimes get the urge to pick up her ukulele and strum a few tunes. Here she is doing her rendition of Happy Birthday.

Alice FINALLY made it to Oprah...

We were finally able to take Mom to the Oprah Store and to see Harpo Studios. The last time she was here it was on our list of things to do, but then Kenna got sick and we were unable to make it there. But this time we did, and with the whole family.

A visit from Gil...

One of my good friends from high school, Ryan Gilmore, is the marketing director for athletics at Eastern Illinois University. He was passing through DeKalb on his way to visit a friend in Madison, WI and so he stopped by the house for dinner. It was nice to catch up with an old friend. It had been awhile since we hung out so it was nice to spend even a little time with Gil. We're only about a 4 hour drive from each other, so hopefully we'll have more opportunities to hang out.

Grandpa, Grandma, & Tita Megan were also able to watch Kaila's swimming class. Here are some pictures.

Kaila & her Nastics (as she calls it)...

Here are some pictures of Kaila at her gymnastics class that Grandpa, Grandma, & Tita Megan were able to watch while they were here.

She's gotten a lot better at jumping on the trampoline. When she first started gymnastics, she was terrified to even get near the thing.
Walking on the balance beam all by herself...
Again, working on her balance...
Side walking on the beam...
Probably Kaila's favorite part of class : getting stamped...

Good-bye Grandpa Ricky...

It was so nice to have Tito Ricky come for Kenna's baptism, but the time definitely flew by way too fast. Right as we began to enjoy his company, it was time to say good-bye. We hope to have the whole Sanborn family come to visit the next time around.

One last picture: Cisco's attempt to stay out of the picture...lol!
Much better...

Grandpa, Grandma, & the girls...

With their Grandpa:

Kenna's Baptism...

Today Kenna got baptized at our church, the Newman Catholic Student Center. We were so happy to be able to have Grandpa, Grandma, Tita Megan, Tito Ricky, Travis, Amy, Morgan, Todd, and Mel in attendance to share in her special day. We've asked Tito Ricky to be her God-father and Megan to be her God-mother. It was a very intimate baptism, and it was as if Kenna knew it was a special day for her and that she was being welcomed into the church. She smiled endlessly throughout most of the ceremony as if to show us she thoroughly enjoyed her special moment.
