All Packed Up & Ready to Go...

After our garage sale, we had to clear out our garage in preparation for the load of stuff that were all packed up and ready for the movers to take to our new home.

All of our things, minus our furniture...not too bad, huh?!
Packing up the piano, which sadly we weren't able to keep because of space :(
Our life in a box...
Almost empty house...
Almost empty garage...
This was how we spent our last few days in our duplex. It was nice having so little to care for and having to be resourceful. Hence, the laundry basket as our dinner table :)
As our things drove away, I no longer felt like our duplex was "home" anymore...I felt like my whole life left with that moving truck. I didn't realize I felt so attached to our things! But needless to say we fared pretty well without all our stuff, being that our things arrived 10 days late - almost a month later!!!

Garage Sale @ 1467 Moluf Street...

Here's a look at all the things we got rid of before moving to Oregon. We purged a lot!! And we're glad we did because we have a much smaller place now than we did in Illinois.

Lemonade!! Lemonade for sale!

Brookfield Zoo Round 2 With The Flewellings...

Our good friends, the Flewellings, took us to the Brookfield Zoo one last time before we left Illinois. The last time we went to the zoo was also with them, but I was about 7 months pregnant with Kenna at the time (see here)! So, this was Kenna's first experience at a zoo! We all had a great time :)

Naperville Centennial Beach...

This was how we spent our day while Cisco was away in Oregon for his interview at Concordia University - we went to Naperville Centennial Beach. Nice place, but beware, the summer months are very crowded.

Happy Independence Day!!

We spent 4th of July with our friends, the Wogens. We had a barbecue at their house and then road our bikes over to our local park (Hopkins Park) for a firework show. Everyone enjoyed the fireworks, except Kaila. She refused to look at them and wanted her ears covered the whole time. When she gets older, I'm sure she'll love them!

Beach Day in Chicago...

When we found out we were moving to Oregon, there were many things that we realized we wanted to do before we left the Chicagoland area. One of them was to take a picture with both Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline in the background, and we knew the perfect spot to do that: the Museum Campus near the Adler Planetarium. But, we needed a photographer! Well, it just so happens that our good friend, Lindsay Wogen, does just that! So I called on Lindsay and since another one of our to-do's before we left Chicago was to get in a Lake Michigan beach day, we decided to make a fun trip with the Wogen's and knock out both things at once. We were planning on going to North Avenue Beach, one of the more popular beaches in Chicago which we've been to before, after our photo session. But what we didn't realize was that there was a beach right next to the Adler Planetarium...perfect!! Talk about killing two birds with one stone :)
