Next Stop: Boise!!

The next stop we made, after leaving Fort Collins, was Boise. We headed there to visit our BFF's, the Lokteffs, and their newest addition, Macie, who we hadn't even met yet!! We also made a visit to our friends, the Schumakers, who also happen to be Kaila's God-Parents. She was very excited to meet them!

Mountains!! Mountains always excite me (as some of you may notice)! I grew up around them & never appreciated them until I lived in places without them. I will never leave them again!!
The girls hanging out with our friends, Alex & Amanda's son, Hudson, whom we also met for the first time.
Kenna driving Uncle Mike's old truck...
Pretty, pretty MACIE!!!
The girls couldn't get enough of Macie...
One of the things we did was visit Lucky Peak State Park...such a beautiful place!
Love this sign as you enter...
Chasing geese...
Fun in the sun...
Rocks excite my children ;)
Macie taking a dip...
More fun in the sun...this time helping Uncle Mike wash a friends' car = our payment for lodging...ha!
Lastly, this picture always makes me laugh & smile :) This is Mike & Erin's dog, Bayla, as she tucked herself into a ball so that she could fit into the boppy...hahaha! It was the funniest thing watching her do this.

Welcome to Fort Collins!!

While we were quite exhausted from driving 15 hours the day before, we still made time to explore the beautiful town of Fort Collins. It was actually nice that we did all the driving the day before because we were able to rest (took almost a 3 hour nap!) and spend the rest of the day enjoying Fort Collins.

Venturing through Old Town Fort Collins with Aunty Shannon & Aunty Kelly...
Aunty Shannon & her girls...
This little piano was so cute!!
Kaila & Sadie made really good friends with Shannon & Kelly's two dogs, Cypress & Jack. One of Kaila's favorite things to do while there was to just run around in the yard with them. Sadie, on the other hand, was a little intimidated by the dogs.
Thank you Aunty Shannon & Aunty Kelly for having us over & showing us around!

Road Trip Time!!!

We began our road trip over to Oregon on Monday, July 25th, 2011. We were headed to somewhere in Nebraska first, but on a whim decided to drive all the way to Fort Collins, CO where my college roommate, Shannon & her partner Kelly, lives. It took us about 15 hours total with stops...crazy huh?!!!

Lucky Sadie - she had the best seat in the house!!
The entertainment begins...
We tried to get pictures of the welcoming signs into every state we drove through, but only got one :( Just so happens to be the state our friends, the Flewellings, are from. So this ones for you guys!
And of course we had to get a drive-by picture of Rosenblatt Stadium in Nebraska, where the college world series used to be played.

Saying Good-bye to our Home for the Past 3 Years...

Leaving our home in DeKalb was very bittersweet. As much as we were looking forward to moving to Oregon (Oregon has always been where we wanted to settle down), a lot of great things came out of our life in Illinois. A lot of cherished memories :)

Playing in their room for one of the last times...
When we first moved to Illinois, Kaila was only 7 months old and we have a picture of her on our bed (here it is!) ...
Now as we leave Illinois, she is 3 1/2 years old & we have an addition!
Smiles...
Funny faces (-_-)...
More smiles...
Good-bye 1467...you will be missed :(
