First Trip to Chi-City

We are SO excited to have our dear friends, Tinae, Jen, and Shannon, here with us in Da Illi. They had a list of places they wanted to see while they were here, and it started with today. Our first two visits were the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum.

Kaila in the car, ready for a fun day.
Tinae and Kaui enjoying the sunny drive to Chi-City, while Shannon meditated.
Chi-City Skyline
A view of Lake Michigan, with Navy Pier in view.
Kaila munching on some beef jerky before we head into the Field Museum
Shedd Aquarium

The ladies in front of Lake Michigan.....
.....and in front of the skyline. The family with Chi-City in the back....and Kaila's head cut-off (nice picture-taking skills, Jen!)Kaila admired these elephants for a few minutes.
Cisco trying to get Kaila to sit down inside of a bug.
Kaila sitting on her Auntie Tinae's lapKaila pressing a button to start an animation describing farming techniques.Kaila pressing more buttons without Mommy and Auntie Shannon knowing. She was all about pressing the buttons at the exhibits.Shannon, Kaui, and Kaila pretending to be barnacles.Kaui's favorite exhibit: Pacific Spirit. Gave her a feel for home in Hawai'i.Outside of the Field MuseumMan, it was a beautiful day.Our last stop inside the aquarium was the Wild Reefs of the Philippines.
MABUHAY!!!
Cisco doing the traditional photo pose with the little Filipino boys. He doesn't know what it means and stands for, but it seems like all Filipino kids pose like that, even his cousins back in the day.
The two Filipinos in our group standing in front of the Motherland. One last pose before we head back to DeKalb. One more extra pic: Soldier Field, the location where the Saints' Super Bowl hopes and dreams were shattered back in January of 2007. Damn those Bears and that stadium!Overall, it was an awesome day. We did so much in such a short time. Tomorrow, it's off to the Sears Tower and The Art Institute of Chicago.
