Christmas!!

Wow, what a wonderful Christmas indeed! Woke up this morning in excitement over what Santa brought everybody. It was so nice being able to open gifts and spend time with our family. Uncle John stayed up late making cinnamon rolls for breakfast, which turned out to be really good.

Sadie got a new purse, since her old one doesn't squeak anymore

Visiting Santa and Sleigh Ride

Yesterday, we went to downtown DeKalb to visit Santa's House and pay St. Nick a visit. Going there, Kaila was very excited to see him. She even saw him from afar and started waving and saying hello. Then when we entered the house............

She didn't want to have any part of Santa Claus. So La'a sat with him by himself and told Santa what he wanted for Christmas.
We tried to all sit with her, Kaila still wasn't having it. But Kenna did:

Afterwards, about a block down, they were giving free horse-and-carriage rides around the block. While we waited, they handed out free popcorn and hot chocolate. The ride was a lot of fun!
Kenna's first carriage ride; she slept through it.

Our Christmas Tree

Today we headed to the Camelot Tree Farm nearby to go Christmas tree hunting. We piled into our Pilot and made the quick drive. What didn't help was that it was BITTER cold out; so we told each other, "find the first tree, cut it down, and let's go."

Kenna with her Tutu

So many choices, which one to pick?
We think we found a winner!

Hauling the tree to the car.
Baling the tree

After we cut the tree, we had to head back to the main office to pay for the tree. Inside, the owner was very friendly and we had a nice conversation with him. They provided complimentary hot cocoa, orange juice, coffee, and the best oatmeal cookies we've ever had. I think between the six of us, we ate almost the entire container.

Kenna enjoyed her time tree hunting, well, sitting in the heated car with Tutu.
Yay! We got the tree up!
CAUTION: X-RATED PICTURE COMING!

After awhile, Kaila got the "hang" of putting up ornaments (no pun intended). She had so much fun doing this.

She couldn't stop....

Kaila with a stocking ornament
One of the 3 MOST IMPORTANT ornaments we own. The other two are also Saints ornaments. WHO DAT!

Of course Sadie had to get into the mix. Hanging her ornament. It was funny because the entire time, she was following people around as we hung ornaments, almost asking, "can I hang one?" When we were all done, she ran under the tree and hid. She's too cute!
Mom and Uncle John with the finishing touches......
..........TA-DA!!!!
We found the perfect tree. Perfect height, perfect width, and very full. It was worth hiking in near zero-degree temperature to find it.
