Happy Easter!!!

We spent our Easter going to church ("The Lord has Risen. The Lord has Risen Indeed."), doing the egg hunt after church, coming home for a much needed nap, mowing, talking with family, and finally having a quiet Easter meal of ham, stuffing, & broccoli :)

Thank you to everyone who sent the girls Easter baskets/gifts: Tutu, Papa, & La'a; Grandma, Grandpa, & Tita Megan; Aunty Wanda; and the Sanborns. Boy are these girls lucky ;)
Easter egg hunt after church...
This time Kenna got more than one egg. The day before was just practice...
Kaila off in the distance hunting eggs...
Post Easter egg hunt. Someone's already looking for food...I wonder who?
...and she found some.
Easter 2011...
Kaila got to see & hang out with Morgan for a bit...she really enjoyed that :)
This one is just for Tutu...they absolutely LOVE the rubberbands you got them. Kenna tries to eat them & this is what Kaila likes to do with them...lol!

Hopkins Park Easter Egg Hunt...

Every year since we've been in DeKalb (almost 3 years now), we've done the Hopkins Park Easter Egg Hunt, so this year was no different except that Kenna got to join in on the fun!

Ready...
Set...
GO!
Okay, Kenna wasn't fast enough...she only got ONE! *Because she's an observer like Mommy*
Kaila on the other hand got a whopping FIVE ;)
The girls after the hunt...
And after all that fun in the park, we went home and colored eggs...

Midwest Museum of Natural History...

Wednesdays through June 1st are free days at the Midwest Museum of Natural History in downtown Sycamore, so we had to take advantage of the free! It's funny to think that a small town like Sycamore has this pretty neat museum. It's basically a lot of taxidermy animals, but they also have some live reptiles and a playroom downstairs. The girls were a little freaked out being so close to such big animals, but especially being around the snakes. Kaila squeezed my hand very tight and kept telling herself, "I'm okay...I'm okay." It was so cute seeing her trying to be so strong...it made my heart melt. While Kenna on the other hand, just buried her face in my chest (I was front carrying her in the Peanut Shell wrap).

I can say I pet a bear ;) But this is the closest I ever want to get to one of these.
The girls loved looking at the fish...
Dora the Explorer...

Kaila's first time having a friend sleep over...

Since we mastered the whole puppysitting thing with Nelly, we decided to move on up to babysitting for the night! Kaila had Ben over for a night while Lindsay & Brian spent some time in Chicago at a small concert. The kids had a blast, especially Kenna who could not stop bugging Ben the whole night long. She would constantly go up to him and just call his name, so pretty much the only word that came out of her mouth that night was....Ben. It was even her first word the very next morning...too funny!!

The kids enjoying Peter Pan & some popcorn...
They had the most fun doing this...

"Nelly is the best puppy ever!!!"

We got to puppysit one of the "best puppy[s] ever!!!" One of Cisco's colleagues,Tommy, had to go out of town and asked us to watch his 7 month old Akita-mix, Nelly. Kaila was thrilled when she heard Nelly was going to be spending some time with us and by the end of Nelly's stay Kaila had declared her "the best puppy ever!!!" But what about Sadie? :(

Trying to feed Nelly a bottle...lol!
The girls wanted SO badly to get a picture with Nelly, but everytime I would get the camera out, she would see it and move!
The shrine they made for Nelly. Kaila said it was for her birthday...how cute!
Finally got a picture with all three girls, just missing Sadie (she was not too thrilled at this point;))
We miss you Nelly!!!

DuPage Children's Museum...

The kids absolutely LOVE this museum...actually, they LOVE every kids museum they've been to ;)

Spring Pics...

The girls getting ready for a bike ride in their trailer (don't worry, we put on their helmets and strapped them in after the picture was taken)...
I thought this was really cute: Kenna was hard at work for a good 15 minutes trying to put Kaila's sandals on the baby = success!

"My Kind of Town (Chicago Is)"

Here are some pictures of our few days spent in Chicago. As Kaila says, "I LOOOOVE Chicago!!"
